I had the strangest dream about Evolve. It was totally a revamped game. The characters started out in the dropship and it seemed that the dropship sequence was a little longer. It looked different in that you could pan 180 degrees around and look at various thing on the wall before the match began. One wall device was a character creator. So you could for example, as one player chose who was part of my team (This felt like virtual reality in the dream since I was part of this as a hunter, but it was not a VR game) chose Crow. He was able to add on a different cloak to Crow, as well as various new colorations of skins and weapon load-outs. And after he was finished he COULD order a small statue of this character from 2K. It would come in very detailed plastic (Like a Warhammer army model) but was a sold tone, and about the size of a GI Joe figure minus the joint-age. Then this could be painted however you liked when you got the shipment if you wanted, which opened up a huge commission possibility for me since folks wanted me to paint these. I ordered a Daisy.
I digress. There were posters on the walls that somehow were interactive...like a map, so you can see current locations of hunters and monsters before you dropped in-game. You could choose where you spawned but all of the maps were combined together into one massive world. The world of Shear was open...which meant that monsters were already within it...multiples as in more than one. All of Shear could be explored on foot if you wanted once you dropped in. Also, you were not held to having a medic, trapper, assault, and support only and could team amongst yourselves (or not) to track one of the monsters. Monster could feed and such but could only evolve after accumulating battle points, so they were actively hunting the hunters.
When you were ready to begin your round you jumped from the ship, I guess at your pleasure, with your custom character and weapon loadouts. Monsters could team up if they wanted or go solo, but there were only so many food sources so this kept them largely spread out. They could only accumulate various attack abilities once they had eaten enough prey on the map...which could continually spawn but were spread apart. I am not sure how this all works in practicality but this was the dream. I was able to select Maggie with Daisy and yet jump off the ship along with Crow. I can't say we each had the traditional kit of Trapper weapons...I think we had a mix since we could chose even out of other kit sets, like assault, support, etc. I don't know how many hunters and monsters could be in the world at any one time but it was large...like you could have a team of 10 hunters if you wanted.
Man, it was AMAZING though. People were playing it like crazy and the graphics were even higher than before. It was strange and different and yet totally playable and fun at the same time. People were loving it!
