So Mercy got gutted, and a small nerf to junkrat:

No longer makes Resurrect instant
No longer grants a bonus charge of Resurrect
The speed boost that Guardian Angel receives has been decreased by 50%
Duration reduced from 20 seconds to 15 seconds
To that I say yay and nay. They need to stop with these extremely polarizing balance changes. When the fuck was Mercy instantly rezzing while valking a problem? It wasn’t, it was the fact that it lasted 20 seconds, with instant auto-health regen, and advanced movement speed.

When did Blizzard ever make the best balance decisions?
I originally made this thread in the PTR feedback section but I feel like my points expand just beyond Mercy. Mercy isn’t the problem, shes the embodiment of the source of the problem: balance.
Dva’s health was buffed, which lead her down her road of UP/UP flavor of the month (which might I remind you made DM oppressive because they buffed it in compensation for her hp nerf, which is what lead people to hate DM)
Bastion was OP for a week, then nerfed shortly after, which gutted his ult. I’d like everyone to try out his ult and feel the pain of being stuck in place for 2 seconds making for an easy target, and then having to do it again when exiting his ult.
Mercy broke after rez invuln, as it increased her popularity and shortly after everyone hated her because “you either kill Mercy first, or you kill her 12th.” This lead to her rework and everyone hating her more. Yes, she was a problem before, because of Blizzard.
Genji’s-caused ult nerf
Ana nerf (which was reverted a day after it was posted, also the only time blizzard has redacted a balance change, but it shows how !@#$ing braindead balance is, where they jump to radical extremes.)
Litterally Blizzard has the worst balance team that I’ve ever seen. It’s either OP, UP, or in a state of limbo/forgetten for months on end.
Dear Blizzard, get it though your MTX/esports skull that balance is not a state of equilibrium, it’s a pendulum. It swings back and forth. One thing affects another. A nerf to Mercy is a buff to Ana, but keeping Genji and Tracer popular is what keeps Ana UP, and a nerf to Genji/Tracer is a buff to 76/McCree, which is a buff to Widow, which is a buff to Winston and Dva, which is a buff to Reaper, which brings it full circle. Just because stats show that Tracer or Genji is balanced, doesn’t mean you can’t tweak them, or even buff other heros to counter them (Mei).
If you want this game to be about counters and switching, you need to stop with the “it’s fine” shtick. It’s not fine. But I am more than sick of these radical changes. It solves nothing. As much as I hate seeing and playing against Mercy every game, I am more than sick of these radical balance changes because of your pride. You not wanting to revert changes is literally the stupidest balance reason on the planet.
We are living in the age of the %^-*ty balance in the past is creating limits to what gets balanced, and how much so, today. Dva being in the broken state? All because of her buffs to HP that wasn’t needed. Mercy becoming popular, hated, and reworked? All because of rez invuln. Genji not having a “pixel perfect” reflect? Contradicted yourself with Doomfist.
For once in your life swallow your pride and start fixing problems that you, yourself caused. Stop making everyone live in the post-“we dont revert” era. It’s sickening. Start asking other Devs how they balance because it shows that you don’t have even a clue as to how.
It’s frustrating because only Blizzard can design a good game, and then ruin it because of their ego. I’m done. I gave enough chances, and I’m done. The multiplayer-only experience where new cosmetic content gets released every 3 months, meanwhile new heros and maps are released even slower which leaves us with stagnant meta for months on end. In short balance doesn’t pay the bills…
There wouldn’t be a meta if would start switching the game faster. If one balance change breaks a hero, the very next week you can revert it. But stop acting like this is an esports game. Stop blinding yourself as to how good this games really is, because the !@#$ty balance just neutralizes the lore, cosmetics, and hero hero designs…
If I’m asking for too much, drop with the events and cosmetics. Stop with the little makeup that makes this game seem pretty, because underneath a monster is lurking and I’m sure you won’t like it when it comes out. Fix what actually makes this game, a game. Not the !@#$ you can put in a wiki article.
