I didn’t insult you…?
Because the counter to dive is Dive. You haven’t played in every single game with them. They may well have, and likely have, tried to before but it hasn’t worked - or at least not consistently. So, they don’t do it over again because they don’t want to risk it not working and them losing again. So they do what works; dive. [quote=“Eos2014, post:5570, topic:87035”]
Or maybe you misunderstood me. I didn’t say they didn’t try to win. They don’t try to play in another way.
I did understand.
It’s pretty bad at the moment, yeah. But as I said, it’s hopefully going to improve soon.[quote=“Eos2014, post:5570, topic:87035”]
Please don’t compare the gameplay of the pros with the players of OW
But it’s important. And it actually somewhat proves your point over Kepil’s. Pro play proves that their are more viable picks than just Dive, but that doesn’t mean all heroes are equal.
Except if that situation only arises once in 200 rounds that hero isn’t really going to get picked, are they? And the problem with balance is that for many situations it’s the same few heroes that are the best at dealing with it. Thus, poor balance. An example:
How do you counter a Bastion? A Torb turret? Protect Healers the most effectively from a Tracer? Get a Widow/Hanzo/McCree/Soldier off high ground? Nullify Hogs old one-shot combo ability? The absolute best Hero for all of these is D.va. Winston is tied best for removal of Widow and Hanzo though.
Their job is to defend the point and repel the attackers. Sitting in a block of invincibility for… What is it… Six seconds?? That’s not repelling the attackers. That’s using a serious if abilities that grant temporary invulnerability because they’ve accepted they aren’t good enough to win. Not exactly legitimate play.
I do understand your opinion, and I have every right to disagree with it. And all I said was you had a lack of understanding of current balance, as claiming that all heroes are viable (particularly Orisa and Bastion and Reaper post his most recent buff) or claiming that Heroes like Mei, Torb and Sym can be used well in a variety of situations is quite frankly ludicrous. But, that is also, just my opinion.
