Ninja Cow here with a new sneaky report about Hunt Showdown and the secrets it contains!
Due to my oh so sneaky bovine nature I have uncovered some new things pertaining to this title. Behold my Moo Cam that took this ultra super secret picture of game code files. Lets dive in!
This gives us some really neat things. Never mind that hooligan in the top right. He is just there staring into the game’s darkened soul oblivious that the Moo Cam is recording his every moove. What does this tell us? Well, some interesting things!
We can see on the left side of the screen a list of items that you can choose as part of your loadout. These items include:
Antidote shot x18
Big dynamite bundle x3
Coldwell conversion pistol x2
Coldwell conversion uppercut x2
Caldwell rival x4
Concertina bomb x11
Dusters x18 (Brass knuckles)
Dynamite bundle x10
Dynamite stick x9
Electric lamp x10
Fire bomb x10
First aid kit x18
Frag bomb x18
Fusees x18 (Flares)
Nosin nagant n1891
Nosin nagant n1891 avtomat x2
I’m not sure what the x#rs mean. Might be some sort of weight/currency/cost or something, but who knows.
On to the right we see a list called, ReleasePerk EarlyAccess. This might be a clue as to what comes out in the Early Access or Closed Alpha coming up. Over here we see:
Antidote shot (WIP)
Big dynamite bundle (WIP)
Caldwell conversion chain pistol
Caldwell conversion pistol
Caldwell conversion uppercut
Caldwell rival 78
Caldwell rival 78 handcannon
Crown + king auto-5
Dolch 56 precision
Dusters (WIP) (Brass knuckles)
Dynamite bundle (WIP)
Dynamite stick (WIP)

WIP I’m 100% sure means Work in Progress so some of that is still not finalized. In the center we can see your load out. Here we can gleen the following:
R + L
R + L
First Aid Kit
Big Dynamite bundle
From this we can determine that you can have 4 1 handed weapons as a Main and Secondary, or 2 2 handed weapons. It also shows that you have 3 tools & 4 consumables. This wasn’t directly tied to gameplay that we’ve seen so this might be a different build than what is being played, or that each consumable has a certain ‘weight’ or limit.
We also know from these menus that there is a bloodline path that carries some sort of perk or similar system that isn’t lost upon death. Gear and Items that you buy do have some sort of purchase cost and we aren’t totally sure what is/will be the default and the rest are purchased.
You can not loot other players that have died/been killed. Not even for ammo. (Though I hope they balance it so you get something, either XP, a mini bounty or something. A mini bounty would be nice because than people can track you… But enough of that, lets moove on)
We know that there is a stamina bar, but it seems to only effect melee atm. Sprinting doesn’t seem to drain stamina. This means you can moove for days. It also means that when you are out of stamina, you hit like a cow girl.
One item shown in the gameplay but not in the menus above was a Quad Derringer (Small pistol with 4 shots before reloading) as a tool.
You can reload while sprinting.
Ammo reloads vary based on gun and bullet mechanics. This means that single cycle pistols that can only spin 1 way, reload faster the less bullets you have due to not having to cycle around to get to the empty chamber. Some guns benefit from leaving at least 1 bullet in. Others are better when emptying. This will be an important key factor in gun fights.
We know that enemies (At least NPC ones) do have hit locations. Shooting legs will cause slow down effects, shooting hands will cause them to drop things and heads… Well heads generally explode into a nice mushy gory mess.
It does seem like you can customize/craft parts to guns that change it up. Silencers on pistols, axes and bayonets on rifles, grips and stocks etc… Most likely these will be upgraded or purchased and can be lost if you die.
There is also 2 types of melee hits. A Broad hit whats in front of you, and a charged up version that requires a bit more accuracy to land but does more damage.
There will be a FoV slider, but might not have it immediately for early access/closed alpha.
There will be controller support, but it’s not a high priority yet.
Friendly fire damage is slightly reduced compared to other players hitting you. The exact % hasn’t been determined yet.
Bullets are hit scan. There is no bullet drop with regards to accuracy. However, there is damage drop from distance and different bullet speeds.
They have the options for skins to guns, but they aren’t focused on different ‘colored skins’ and are more for adding variety to different TYPES of attachments that benefit/change the weapon. Immersion is a bit more important than say having a pink gun. Seriously, you don’t see people with pink cows. And no, Aunt Tabitha’s ‘spring fling’ doesn’t count. That was a horrible time for her. And it wasn’t really pink. More like flamingo.
Players do have hit locations, but gun shots to hands and feet don’t change up the character like they do for NPCs. So more or less damage based on location.
There will be plans for adding sniper scopes to the game but they are not currently in. However, due to lower based technology, no red dots etc… so the sniper scopes aren’t going to be as useful. (Possibly, we’ll see what my Senpai MaddCow can break with it)
Ranked mode is the default mode with leader boards. That will be the main way to play the game.
Weapons won’t jam due to frustration. They had this at one point, but then it was taken out because of frustration. They have some ideas on how to bring it back, but not cause frustration on the player. Most likely it will be after a shot is fired and not during a shot.
They do have crossbows that they are currently working on. They even have explosive tipped bolts in the lineup.
There are ‘difficulties’ but it just changes the amount and types of enemy NPCs and not health.
Bounties are the main ‘currency’ in the game. Clues provide a little bounty. Bringing back the bounty of the main enemy is worth the most.
Some maps will have a main bounty and a minor bounty that can split players up.
Some weapons can cause a bleeding effect.
The bounty and perk system will be discussed in depth more in a later stream.
If you take burning damage there is a chance to lose a permanent chunk of health. Bounty points can be spent to ‘restore/repair’ the loss. (Might not be ‘just’ burning damage but it was the example that this Ninja Cow overheard)
Only the Butcher and Spider bosses have been announced so far.
They have ideas about having enchantments into the game, but they aren’t in yet.
The map is not procedural and is made by hand. Right now they have just the 1 and it’s at night. They are still tweaking the daylight and other time settings version of that map.
MaddCow has already mentioned a super secret strategy in alerting all the undead in the map and dragging them onto unsuspecting players. Don’t tell him that I spilled his guts… I mean secrets.
Thats it for now 2 leggers. This has been a special report by none other than Ninja Cow! Ninja Cow Vanish!
