I’d say Hyde is the best Assault.
He’s the most versitile. Markov is useless against Behemoth because his mines don’t contribute to his damage unless the Behemoth is bad.
Parnell is also good, but his rocketlauncher takes massive skill to land shots from a distance (and shotty is useless against Kraken)
Torvald is great for full-out damage, but his damage is all or nothing, meaning you have to unload your damage at the right time, and his mortars aren’t the best for chase damage.
Lennox is also solid, but she can’t do much if she can’t keep her lance combo up.
Hyde is the best entry-level assault, the most well-rounded, and has amazing, consistent damage.
A good Hank, that is. One of my old friends was a Hank main and he was the b0ss. Him on Hank and me on Emet, we were an unbeatable team. Sunny was limited to her drone for protection, but orbital confused the monster, and punished them.
RIP old 5 second long Orbital… Those were the days…
Also RIP the days when Emet had assault-style damage and couldn’t self-healburst to save himself…
Behemoth to me is what those 2 are to monsters.
Especially when TRS went after Emet’s HB, Behemoth was just too good. It seemed like Slim was the only medic able to counter him.
Val could only single target heal, and tranqs didn’t work against his roll.
Laz… GL withstanding a Behemoth with no heals and no rezzing
Caira, all around decent, but after her self-heal nerf she fell into sub-par territory.
Emet struggled with AoE abilities, but Behemoth was 100% AoE and thus his buoys were always countered. Then after his HB nerf throwing out buoys to heal just didn’t do enough.
I remember when I said I would never play Slim because of how OP he was, then practically maining him once Behemoth was in every single game.
Torvald could also shread monsters if he could land most of his Mortars. I remember when his mortars would destroy any monster. There was a gif floating around somewhere of Mortars + Amp destroying a Behemoth’s armor in less than a second.
Back before he was nerfed his Mortars were basically Hank Orbitals on a 5 second cooldown.
