Not a rant more of a /sigh
Played 5 games tonight in Arcade. Average teams, no one terrible no one awesome and we lost them all apart from the 5th. The losses werent really even close. We didnt play terribly as such and the monsters werent convincingly brilliant either.
The 5th game we won on Overdrive, probably because my assault had 5 red buffs against a gorgon and that match was close enough.
But thats my public matchmaking experience in a nutshell. Average teams lose to average monsters but that seems to be my level and where Im being matched so who am I to complain?
Its not hugely fun though. No one left any of the games, everyone tried their best.
I wish I knew what was the experience of other 50-100 hour single queuers in arcade. Are they all having as crappy a time as me? Then I look at how hunters have been chopped week after week after week and realise this isnt helping at this level, where single players are queuing up alone and having a go.
There can be stats showing balance at low tier and balance at high tier but I just kinda feel puzzled and think how? The odds are so heavily stacked against single queuers who are around my level as we simply dont seem good enough to beat equivalent matched monsters.
I dunno, I just dunno. Should probably git gud but if I can't will I just be another player who trundles off into the distance as Monsters get balanced for premades at high level then somehow a few pretty minor single queue buffs are supposed to redress the balance at low tier?
Players at my level arent choosing chars to compliment each other like a premade would do. We arent using voice like a premade would do. Those are huge disadvantages. The game doesnt feel designed to be played by single queuers at low-mid level at all.
The game 'should' be able to cope with this though, but it cant, it just cant and the single player buffs are absolute recognition of this but even so, those buffs were useless to those I grouped with this evening.
I dont know if it can be solved. It seems monsters arent happy and hunters arent happy and everyone is going to hell in a handbasket. Take Hank. Nerfed again. Without the right support Hank is squishy as fuck but that is exactly what happens in single queuing at this level, 90% of the time people just choose who they wanna choose and its here where nerfs to the like of Hank is most felt.
Cool, not a rant but glad to get it off my chest anyway. Off to Chicago for 2 weeks on sat with work so will be having a break from Evolve, probably do me good
