Does this mean it stucks on the Soundcard intialisation?

I tried mostly everything, but nothing helps.

  • reinstalled directx
  • reinstalled c++
  • set resolution from 21:9 to 16:9 1080p
  • Checked gamefiles
  • run as administrator
  • newestes nvidia driver
  • dismounted the soundcard
  • disabled all soundcards in Device.Manager
  • deleted nvidia Experience
  • turned down all unneccesary programs in the background
  • turnd off steam overlay
  • turnd of steam cloud

Pleas help me!
Thanks

Sounds like you may have a similar problem to me:

#3

totally

what sound card is installed in your system, and which mainboard do you have?

#4

Hi Clemens,

I have a Soundblaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio and GIgabyte P55A-UD4 motherboard, how about yourself? I updated to the latest sound drivers and still nothing.

Phllips amBX Ambilight Stereo Sound Unit and Windows 7 64-bit are the things I have in common. Have you tried uninstalling the Phillips software and playing?

#8

wow, i did uninstall all drivers and did a reboot. than i got an error message for the first time. i repaired the game with steam and now it works. drivers and programms deinstalled from ambx and disconnected the ambx set from the PC.

#9

Hey Clemens,

I did exactly the same, uninstalled all Philips amBX software, rebooted and it worked! I think we deserve some unlocks from Turtlerock for cracking this ourselves… Good times! Happy game mate!

PS you can keep your speakers plugged into your soundcard, no need to disconnect the set so you can play with sound through your speakers. Must’ve been conflicting files through Windows etc.

Wow, you guys are amazing for figuring this out. I haven’t used an amBX setup since testing Supreme Commander, which was one of the first games to use it extensively in conjunction with the game. I’ll be sure to get this noted. Thanks guys.
