After a few more sessions of 8hr+ and the fact that my ISP has ultimately been hurting my stream quality/ been so poor it won't even stream, I've decided to start creating my own campaign.
I'm reading more do the DM guide, and I'm on no way an expert, but it's given me inspiration.
I have my ground work laid out for how I want the campaign to go, 2 world turning events, all connected to the main story.
I have a concept for the regions (many small villages, 4kingdoms, and 1 capital)
I also have the idea for the quests, main and side, and I'll be looking to start creating my world and first quest.
My story is inspired by various anime and fantasy stories/movies/shows.
I will update here as I go along, and I may have questions.
I just wanted to see if anyone here found any issues with my first piece.
I want to start it off in a bar late night, all the adventurers will meet there, as the bar is located in a central entry village for that kingdoms region.
It will start off with a little socializing, or lack there of depending on the players, but would bust into a bar robbery.
I'm putting g this in for a few reasons.
1) gives players a chance to show off any ability if they want.
2) it would allow players to act on their alignment, or if they want to be shady, make it seem like they're acting within it.
3) it's mostly for any newcomer. I feel like having a battle early on so go over rules, show off the flow of a battle, and sort of lay the groundwork for how in battle will work, all the while making it for a purpose.
In that event, it is discovered that a halfling was watching, and informs our adventurers that recently a dungeon had appeared out of nowhere out of town. Many have gone to tame it, but none have come back, now these adventurers will go.
In the end after the boss fight, a deity will gift a magical weapon/treasure of the dungeon. It will go on to explain that more will pop up (dungeons, 8 to be exact) and that one or many can tame them, and either light up the world or plunge it into darkness.
This is the point where I will be working too for now, but after their adventure, upon returning after several days, word will have spread that the 8 other dungeons have appeared, and that there are others seeking then power.
I have the campaign outlined from there, but I don't want to write this huge elaborate story without running it at check points, in case I need to alter. There are a couple villains to focus on, and like I said two world altering events, and the story will lead to the capital and a prophecy.
I will be tinkering obviously, but I wanted to throw my baseline out there, just to get some feedback.
Positive or negative!
Let me know whatcha think, and if you have any suggestions, plz, pls, pls feel free to toss them out.
I'm planning to start writing the bar and dungeon this week/weekend.
Thanks for reading
